Bulgaria was re-elected for the seventh time as a member of the International Communication Union Council

Bulgaria was elected for the seventh time as a member of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Council, Mr. Veselin Bozhkov, PhD – Chairman of the Communications Regulation Commission and Head of  the Bulgarian national delegation informed from Busan, Republic of Korea, where the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference is being held.  Our country received a seventh consecutive four-year mandate at the governing body of the largest telecommunication organization for the period 2014 – 2018. Bulgaria was elected from the Eastern Europe and Northern Asia Region, represented to the Council by five countries. The elections results are a decided success for Bulgaria and are indicative of its reputation built in the telecommunication sector. The active participation of Bulgaria in the ITU activities as well as the excellent collaboration with the other Member States, had contributed to the received confidence and the re-election of our country to the Council. Bulgaria has been an ITU member since 1880. The Union brings together 193 countries, 700 Sector Members and Associates – private sector organizations, international and national telecommunication organizations, etc.

Meeting between the regulators from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Moldova

 

               

 

On 18th September 2014 in Sofia a trilateral meeting was held between the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC), the Czech Telecommunication Office (CTU) and the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology of the Republic of Moldova (ANRCETI). The national regulators were represented by Mr. Veselin Bozhkov, PhD – Chairman of CRC, Mr. Jaromír Novák – Chairman of the Council of the CTU and Mr. Grigore Varanita - Director of ANRCETI.

 

Issues related to the role of the regulators for ensuring a competitive market for electronic communications and more qualitative services for the end users were discussed at the meeting. In the spirit of the signed Memoranda for understanding the regulators shared information about best regulatory practices and gained experience.

 

This trilateral meeting is an expression of the constructive dialogue and the active cooperation between the three national institutions for finding the best solutions of the common problems for the regulation of the national markets.

The Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) launches a public consultation procedure under Art. 37 of the Law on Electronic Communications on a draft Reference Offer for concluding a contract for unbundled access to the subscriber’s line (Reference Offer), submitted by „Bulgarian Telecommunication Company” ЕАD (BТC) and the CRC’s position for amendment of the same

The Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) launches a public consultation procedure under Art. 37 of the Law on Electronic Communications on a draft Reference Offer, submitted by BTC and the CRC position for amendment of the same. The elaborated by CRC position, which is in the form of a draft Decision for giving binding instructions for amendment of the Reference Offer, aims to ensure an effective implementation of the specific obligations imposed on BTC. The drafts of the Decision and of the Reference Offer are published on the Commission’s website - www.crc.bg, under the Section „Public consultation". Interested parties may submit their written comments to the Communications Regulation Commission, 6 Gurko Street, 1000 Sofia, within a 30 days term as from the date of the present publication.
