The CRC signed Memoranda of Understanding with the Serbian and the Greek regulators

 

At the initiative of the Communications Regulation Commission (the CRC), on 8th of July 2011 in Sofia were signed Memoranda of Understanding between the Bulgarian Regulator, the Republic Agency for Electronic Communications - Serbia (RATEL) and the Hellenic Telecommunications and Posts Commission (EETT).

 

The aim is to establish relations between the three parties in the field of the electronic communications, as the priority is the development of the practical cooperation, exchange of experience and best practices related to the regulation of the sector.

 

At the tripartite meeting were reported the benefits of a closer cooperation on issues related to the electronic communication services, including exchange of information on the national legislations, the state of the communications market, as well as assistance in the development of sector strategies.

 

From the Bulgarian side the agreements were signed by the chairman –Veselin Bozhkov, PhD, for RATEL – Milan Jankovic, PhD, and for the EETT –Leonidas Kanellos, PhD. 

 

The initiative is a continuation of the Communications Regulation Commission’s policy for interaction with the national regulators from the countries in the region and EU. So far, the CRC has established relationships with eight countries – Italy, Spain, Hungary, Turkey, Macedonia, Ukraine, Moldova, Egypt. By signing the present agreements with Serbia and Greece, Bulgaria became a Balkan centre for cooperation of the sector regulators.
