By Decision № 526 of 5.05.2010 the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) adopted its position on changing the way of dialing geographic numbers in the Republic of Bulgaria, by introducing closed dialing. One of the main CRC tasks is to provide a balance between preserving the reserve of scarce resource - numbers and adequately meeting the needs of the numbers of existing and potential new undertakings and service providers as well as monitoring the efficient use of numbers from the National Numbering Plan (NNP). Analysis of the current status of the numbering resource in Bulgaria shows that the free resource of geographic numbers is unevenly allocated and there are regions defined by four and five-digit geographic codes, where it is insufficient and unable to provide resources for all people. This is a prerequisite to seek new opportunities for using the resource of geographic numbers. In this respect and in accordance with Art. 37 para 1 CRC places under public consultations CRC's position on changing the way of dialing of geographic numbers in the Republic of Bulgaria, by introducing closed dialing. The position is published on the Commission website – http://www.crc.bg/ under section “Public consultations”. Interested persons may send their written observations within 14 days from the date of the present publication at the following address: Sofia, 6, Gurko str., Communications Regulation Commission.
