The Communications Regulation Commission adopted amendment and supplement to the functional specifications for number portability

The Communications Regulation Commission adopted drafts for amendment and supplement of:

Functional specifications for implementing portability of national significant numbers in the event of change of the provider of public mobile telephony service;

Functional specifications for implementing non-geographic number portability in the event of change of the provider, offering the respective service; (available only in Bulgarian)

Functional specifications for geographic number portability in the event of change of the provider of fixed telephone service and/or when changing the address within one and the same geographic national destination code; called hereinafter „functional specifications” (FS).

The suggested amendments and supplements of the FS are intended for changing the administrative procedure for implementing portability, reduction of the terms for implementing portability and introduction of a unified sound signal for announcement of a ported number. With the suggested amendments and supplements of the FS better protection of the subscribers’ and users’ interests is sought as well as promotion and facilitation of the portability process.

In accordance with the provision of Art.134, paragraph 3 in connection with Art. 36, paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 of LЕС, the Commission is opening procedure for public consultation, and the drafts for amendment and supplement of the FS are published on the Internet site of the Commission www.crc.bg. Interested parties can send their written comments within a 30-days term from the date of the present publication to the following address: Sofia, 6 Gurko street, Communications Regulation Commission.
