The Chairman of CRC participated in the World Radiocommunication Conference

CRC Chairman Ivan Dimitrov participated in the closing meetings and discussions of the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-19). The conference ends today, November 22, 2019, in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, with the signing of the Final Acts.

The WRC-19's decisions will set the direction for the development of radio communications, spectrum management and the introduction of innovative radio services worldwide over the next four years.

This year's edition of the WRC-19 addressed a wide range of issues related to radio frequency spectrum allocations of various satellite and terrestrial radio services. Decisions, defining the regulatory conditions for the use of the radio frequency spectrum, corresponding to the rapid development of wireless technologies were taken. The Conference undertook the necessary steps to facilitate global and regional harmonization of  bandwidths for the maintenance of railway radio communications systems. WRC-19 considered and addressed key issues related to the definition of new bands for the future development of International Mobile Communications (IMT), including those for 5G networks. Regulatory conditions for the use of radio frequency spectrum for satellite communications, including for non-geostationary satellite systems, were determined. This aims to facilitate the entry of new technologies that provide access to the global network from any place in the world.

Bulgaria's proposal to replace 10 channels at 1.2° W in the Annex 30/30A Plan of the Radio Regulations with 10 channels at 1.9° was accepted.

An agenda for WRC-23 as well as a draft agenda for WRC-27 were adopted.

The participation of CRC in the work of the WRC-19, as part of the official delegation of the Republic of Bulgaria, contributed to upholding and protecting the interests of our country with regards to the use of the radio frequency spectrum, taking into account the national interest.
