The Bulgarian and Chinese regulators have discussed the future cooperation in the field of postal services

                                                                                                                                   

 

                 

The Chairman of the Communications Regulation Commission has held a meeting with the Deputy Director General of the State Post Bureau of China - Mr. Xiaojiang Xing.

 

An analysis of the postal market indicating the trends in the sector development was made during the meeting. Attention was also paid to guaranteeing  steady development of the Universal Postal Service, ensuring conditions for effective market competition and protecting end-users’ interests. The activity of the Bulgarian regulator as Chair of the European Regulators Group for Postal Services (ERGP) was addressed as well. Under CRC’s Chairmanship a Medium Term Strategy for the group's activities (2017-2019) has been elaborated for the first time since the ERGP establishment, as well as a decision has been made for drawing up a Roadmap on the measures to improve ERGP’s efficiency.

 

For his part, Mr. Xiaojiang Xing presented the activities of the State Post Bureau of China which are related to the national strategy for development, postal research, science and technologies, standards, statistics and information services such as education, trainings and labour management in postal services. In addition, he drew attention to the fact that the Chinese postal market is growing fast and the expectations are for this trend to continue.

 

During the meeting both parties expressed their readiness for future cooperation, exchange of best practices in the field of regulation and protection of end-users’ interests.
