The Communications Regulation Commission adopted a Position on the transition to geographic codes with length up to three digits

 

The Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) adopted a Position on the transition to geographic codes with length up to three digits.

 

As it is indicated in the Regulatory policy for use of numbers, addresses and names for carrying out electronic communications adopted with CRC’s Decision No 1522 of 21.06.2012, the priority tasks in the regulation with the aim to ensure sufficient resource of geographic numbers are as follows:

 

·         solving the problems in the regions with insufficient resource;

·         improvement in the effectiveness of use of the numbering resource.

 

According to the CRC, in order to solve these priority tasks it is necessary to undertake actions for consolidation of the numbering areas with geographic numbers and to transit to geographic codes with length up to three numbers. In this connection and in conformity with art. 37, para 1, the CRC puts to public consultation the Position of the Communications Regulation Commission on the transition to geographic codes with length up to three digits. The Position is published on the Commission’s website – www.crc.bg under the section “Public consultation”. The stakeholders can send their written opinions within 30 days from the date of the current publication to the following address – Sofia, 6, Gurko str., Communications Regulation Commission.
