The European Regulators Group for Postal Services discussed a regulatory approach by actively engaging all stakeholders

The European Regulators Group for Postal Services (ERGP) held a workshop on "Data driven regulation of postal market" on 28 October 2019 in Hague. The national regulatory аuthorities (NRAs) held a discussion in two sessions: "Postal data/statistics" and "Cross-border parcel delivery services regulation". Тhe purpose of the event was to discuss the key indicators and information needed to regulate the postal market, including measures taken by operators to ensure postal security, comparability of data and development trends of  the postal market.

The CRC took part in the 17th ERGP Plenary meeting held on 29th of November. The draft ERGP Medium-Term Strategy 2020-2022 and the ERGP  Work programme 2020 were approved during the plenary.  The main emphasis of the Strategy is the active involvement of all stakeholders and international organisations.

During the plenary, elections for  ERGP Chair 2021 were held. Mr. Marcin Cichy, chairman of the Polish national regulatory authority was elected for the post.

The plenary also approved: ERGP Report on quality of service, consumer protection and complaint handling, ERGP Report on core indicators for monitoring the European postal market and ERGP Report on cross-subsidisation practices to be published on the ERGP website. The framework of the third Stakeholder Forum, to be held in Brussels in September 2020 was also approved.

ERGP is an advisory group to the European Commission (EC). It facilitates consultation and cooperation between NRAs in EU countries and between NRA and the EC. The tasks of the ERGP are to advise and assist the EC in consolidating the internal market for postal services or on any matter relating to postal services. ERGP advises and assists the EC on the development of the internal market for postal services and the consistent application of the regulatory framework for postal services in all Member States.
